October

It has been a beautiful fall here in New England.  Hard to believe it is Halloween already!
As Harper said, "I have been waiting for Halloween for a long time."  To prepare, the girls carved pumpkins.

Harper marched in the kindergarten parade at school.

Decorating pumpkins after the parade was lots of fun!

Ida Jane's school has a pumpkin parade.  Students bring pumpkins and line the walkway with them.  Ida Jane did hers all by herself!  It is the bat flying past the moon.

Harper also made a bat pumpkin in school.

Trick or Treat!

Other October events included apple picking and the Renaissance Festival.

The girls loved apple picking.

We all enjoy our yearly visit to the Renaissance Festival.

Of course, we are very excited about the Red Sox!!!
What an October!

Catch up rewind

We have been terrible keeping up the blog lately.  I was going through pictures this evening and realized we never posted any photos of graduations last spring or of our fun little trip to Storyland in New Hampshire back in June!  We went with some family friends.  Harper was sick the first day and had to stay back at the hotel with mom but rallied the next day and a great time was had by all!  Here are a few photos of those events, along with a bonus shot of Ida and Harper at one of our favorite local places, Davis Farm.

Overdue summer post

We are long overdue for a blog entry, so we'll split it into two different parts. First, we missed an important birthday - Amy! Ben even managed to secure a proper cake and everything.

Then Ben took the girls out to Ohio for a fun long weekend. It was great to see Grandma Gerber in Indiana.

We had a little get together in Berkey for Ida's birthday. Here's the boys catching up on the porch.

A table full of cousins!

There was an amazing Wonder Woman cake, as requested.

After the cake!

Here's Granddad and Grandmama with their great-grandkids!

We were sorry to say goodbye, but it was a great visit.

Back in Boston, the party began again. Like last year, we went bowling. Unlike last year, we bowled candlepin style - for those not familiar, the balls are smaller and more manageable.

A room full of good friends.

Cake!

And finally a nice pic from our hike up in the Blue Hills.
