Fresh from the sea

Ida Jane had her first trip to the Atlantic Ocean this week. When we arrived on Wednesday at 5 PM, it was a balmy 80 degrees, which would be the last time we saw temperatures anywhere close to that. The following Thursday the high was 55, and on Friday it didn't get above 50. It was supposed to snow that night, and in an underheated cabin, Mom and Dad decided to cut the vacation a bit short. Ida Jane was a bit sad that she didn't get to show off her legs on the beach:

But we sure had a good time while we were there. Here's Mom and Ida Jane on the first trip to the beach:

And here's a picture as the tide comes in:

Here's a picture with Daddy on a visit to Kill Devil Hills, the area just south of Kitty Hawk where the Wright brothers flew for the very first time. This rock marks the spot!

And, last but not least, here's a movie of Ida Jane enjoying her car ride home, thanks to a toy, some songs, and a Sunday Driver from Pennsylvania. ;) Daddy didn't know there was a movie being filmed.

Cherry Blossoms and Fantasy Baseball

Ida Jane has had an eventful few days, with a trip to Pittsburgh this past weekend and a visit to the cherry blossoms in Washington this morning!

In Pittsburgh she was excited to see Grandma and Grandpa Zoll:

She loved listening to the Flatlanders play after the draft was over. She had her eye on Uncle John's Mandolin.

Today she really had a good time at the mall and tidal basin. Here she is trying to figure out just what these blossoms are all about:

And she was really interested in the ducks and boats on the tidal basin. She's never seen so much water outside of a bathtub before! The Jefferson Memorial itself was a good stop for a bottle break, too. Here she is with Mom on her way around the Basin.

First day on the patio

It was a lovely day here in Washington, DC, and mom and dad took Ida Jane out on the patio to celebrate! We had fun sitting outside, watching the dog, listening to the banjo, and talking to one of our favorite toys, Munkmunk.

Here's Ida Jane sitting with Mommy:

Here's Daddy and Ida Jane, both with some very pasty legs.

We brought out Ida Jane's own high chair, so she could sit like a big girl and talk to her favorite toys, like Munkmunk.

And, last but not least, allow me to present the amazing Raspberry Baby!

Top o' the morning to ya

Our Wee Beanie is dressed for the day in her finest Irish Green. Here's a couple of pictures and a movie from this morning.

Here's a big smile.

Her mom and I can't get over how chubby her feet and toes are. Here's a good idea of what I mean:

This is a movie of Ida Jane sitting in her boppy and playing with her rattle.

A very interesting story

Ida Jane had a very interesting story that she wanted to share with everyone. She asked me to put it up on her blog, and I was happy to oblige.

81 degrees here in DC today, and we're only going to get up to 39 on Friday. Go figure!

Ida Jane eats with a spoon!

With the OK from her Doctor, we gave Ida Jane her first taste of the spoon. She did pretty well with it, as you can see:

Here's Dad giving it a shot.

End result? She did very well, taking at least a dozen bites before deciding that the bottle is quicker, at least for now.

Long time no post!

Hi everyone,

Sorry we've been so delinquent in posting up new pictures of Ida Jane. Here are a few to make up for the long internet absence.

Here's a picture with Grandma, who visited for a very nice week.

Ida Jane has started chewing on teething toys more often, too. She particularly enjoys this bee.

This Monkey hat from Cousin Carly is a very cute addition to her spring wardrobe:

Her daddy bought her a new lion after a doctor's visit.

This morning her mommy decided it was time to start the baseball wars with a Red Sox outfit, courtesy of Uncle Mike and soon-to-be Aunt Stephanie. Dad will be following with Cleveland gear sometime soon, I'm sure!
